Osage Beach, MO

We love the show The Ozarks, so we had to make a point to add this lake area to our trip. We arrived on a Monday evening and checked into our motel. We had driven about 10 hours that day, so we weren't up for much more than dinner and a quick dip in the hot tub before falling into bed for the night.

Tuesday morning, we walked a block down the street to get some breakfast at a nearby diner and then headed off to hike around the lake. Toad found the Rocky Top Trail in Land of the Ozarks State Park. It was listed as an "easy" hike, but it had some climbing that left both of us breathing pretty heavy. It was a 2 mile loop of clean wooded paths, and the payoff view at around the halfway point was worth all the extra effort!

It just wouldn't be a Toad & Melissa adventure if we didn't find some mini golf to battle for bragging rights, so after our hike we stopped at Pirates Cove Adventure Golf. I won the first game, Toad won the second game. It was fun to get out and stretch our legs all day after driving so much in the last few days and the weather cooperated letting us get some sun on our faces.

We started our evening with a quick drink at a fun marina restaurant, Backwater Jack's Bar & Grill and I got this cute picture of this handsome man of mine!

That quick drink was our pregame before heading to a sunset dinner cruise around the lake with Celebration Cruises. The bar was open, dinner was tasty, and we had great conversation with other passengers.

Caught a few final pictures as the sun made its way toward the horizon. What a beautiful life this is! I'm so thankful to share it with this man and with all of you!

We hope you enjoy! The adventure continues...
